What’s the origin of the band’s name? Has the name been different in the past?
Matt – The name basically means we are the people of the moon. We dwell in the dusk and hide from the light, we hate the everyday life.
Please list the (nick)name, age and instrument(s) of each band member.
Scott summons forth the death throes (vocals), Matt orchestrates the sullen dirge (all music)
How long have you all known each other?
Matt – How long can you stretch a severed artery?
Scott – Fucked if I can remember exactly. Long enough to learn to tolerate each other.
How did you all meet?
Matt – On the sinternet.
Scott – Various musical interests sort of collided. If I remember right, I met Matt initially through Exalted Woe Records.
What inspired you to make music together?
Matt – A common goal, a combined loathing.
Scott – What he said.
What genre of music do you consider your work to be?
Matt – Doom, drone.
Scott – I’m not a fan of genre assignments. It is whatever it turns out to be during recording. It can and will vary in style and substance.
Who are your major influences?
Matt – Crowley, solitude and misanthropy.
Scott – Death, isolation and various sorts of early and medieval stories and poetry.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?
Matt – I write the music, I base it on real life scenarious, none of it is nice, in fact most of it is horrific and very fuckin graphic. When you sit around with the dead it kinda puts shit into perspective.
How does the music affect the lyrics and vice versa?
Matt – When I write the music, I try and envision a vast bleak wasteland filled with nightmares of insanity. Personally i think the lyrics and vocals suit the the music perfectly.
Scott – Hard to explain. I don’t write a damn thing without hearing the song first, for certain. I get the mood/feeling from it and I write to match that. same with the vocals. I try to match them to the feeling of the song. There’s no point in doing shit the same way each time. There will be a shift in sound on the next album, most likely, and it will all adapt to fit that.
Which of your tracks are you most proud of?
Matt – All of them, they’re all fuckin cool.
Scott – If I’m forced to pick one, I’d go with Drowning in Blood. Moodiest damn thing I’ve ever heard. Turned out perfect.
What are your favorite bands?
Matt – Burzum, Carcass, Chaos UK, My Dying Bride, Amebix, Paradise Lost, etc etc etc,
Scott – Disembowelment, Silent Stream of Godless Elegy, and Slumber. Those are the ones I can’t ever seem to stop listening to anyway.
Which record label are you currently with and which record label(s) have you worked with in the past?
Matt – We are currently with Exalted Woe Records.
Scott – I’m not entirely averse to using more than one label for a release, but we haven’t really looked for others. I kinda feel like we owe Exalted Woe a lot, and they have a shot at anything we do before anyone else, as far as I’m concerned. They’ve always been there for us and we appreciate it.
What made you choose the instrument(s) you play now? Was it a style/model/brand preference?
Matt – My first guitar, which is the one I’m still using, is an old battered Gibson flying V which i stole from an ex girlfriend, I’m not bothered about brands or what anyone else is using. As long as it works that’s fine with me. Saying that, I’ve had my eye on a 7 string Jackson strat for a while, so I might steal it after this interview.
Scott – I play bass a bit and keys as well, but my voice has always been easier for me to change style with, so I stick to what I know. for recording equipment I guess I prefer Sennheiser. best mic I’ve ever had for the price.
Do you perform live? If so; where have you performed? Do you have any upcoming shows?
Matt – We are a studio band, but there is talk of going live in the future.
Scott – I would really love to terrorize the damn west coast of the US with this stuff, if things ever come together. We’re not rushing to get to live stuff though. It happens when it happens.
If you could be any animal, which animal would it be?
Matt – Human beings are animals.
Scott – Is this a therapy session now or what?
Other than this interview, what’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever agreed to do?
Matt – Being born.
Scott – There’s no damn way I could fit the list into this interview.

Is there anyone you’d like to acknowledge for support?
Matt – Mainly our fans, your support and patience will not be forgotten.
Scott – In particular? Don Zaros, Surtr Stormhammer, and Zach and Anna Dendinger. other than that, the people out there who support what we do.
Any last words?
Thanks for the interview and thanks to everyone that believes in us.
