Biography:
Lunarsapian unexpectedly came to be in the year of 2008, starting off as a two piece band. Within a matter of weeks a collection of tracks were written. The sound was raw and uncompromising and the mind-set was thoroughly second wave black metal. Shortly afterwards a bassist was recruited and after that their first demo was completed, entitled ' Lament of Bacchus'.
For the following months the demo was distributed round the country with varying results, they had promising reviews from fanzine's and bands alike. The decision was made to evolve their sound further, within that their home studio (The Lair) was upgraded by scrounging and stealing equipment, and after that the stage was set.
The band’s sound had changed dramatically; it was heavier, slower and more menacing. The lyrical theme was based around the writings of Aleister Crowley, old English gods and Druidic lore. As they continued to obsess over historical transcripts they even got to the point that everything was written and spoken in Anglo Saxon.
Their second demo was completed, and ‘Forever England’ was circulated around Europe via their underground connections. The band never wanted popularity, but they did achieve notoriety from their peers. Hated by most, respected by some, Lunarsapian never stuck to the “rules”. They stood alone and defiant.
A year later they pieced together four of their personal best and released it as ‘The Gilded Fucking Whore EP’. It was never released on CD and can be heard only on social media websites. After that the band went their separate ways to pursue other projects.
Now in 2014 Lunarsapian are back and recording. Now an international effort, they have already made plans for a full length release. Entitled ‘Fade Into Oblivion’, the sound has changed even more. It’s bleak, harrowing and bordering on the psychotic…….
Summoning the Aether was created a few months later in 2014. A bleak, 74 minute, single-song ambient experiment, Summoning the Aether is basically a horror soundtrack, moving slowly and then suddenly bursting forth with disturbing shrieks and violent fits of guitar work.
A new full length album, A Slow, Painful Life, has been finished.
